How to compare auspicious days

Begin with one activity. Read its entry, then keep the other calendar layers beside it.

Understand the day-god cycle →

Choose the activity you actually mean

The almanac distinguishes actions that everyday speech may combine: moving residence and entering a new home are separate entries, as are becoming engaged and holding a wedding. Selecting one does not automatically include the others.

Keep that activity fixed while browsing successive months. The counts above the calendar describe only the visible dates. Select a candidate to read the complete lists, then compare another date using the same question.

Three activity results—not a single luck score

Yi · Suitable
The selected activity has a suitable entry on this date.
Ji · Avoid
The selected activity has an avoid entry on this date.
Not listed
The activity appears in neither list. That absence is not a suitable entry.

Read the full wording too. Broad entries such as “No other activities recommended” remain in the day reading; the filter does not turn every unlisted activity into a new verdict.

Worked comparison · September 2026

Suitable for travel, unsuitable for a wedding

On 10 September, travel appears in Yi and holding a wedding in Ji. The day also carries a Hei Dao classification. A suitable activity can therefore appear on a day with an inauspicious general classification.

The reverse occurs on 23 September: Controller of Destiny supplies a Huang Dao classification, but travel appears in Ji. The activity entry and the day-god cycle answer different questions.

Questions about the calendar

Does an auspicious hour override a Ji entry?

No. Hour labels come from their own cycle. Read them beside the activity entry, not as a way to reverse it. Times use UTC+8, with the Rat hour split into portions on either side of midnight.

Are festivals and Moon phases recommendations?

No. They mark calendar events, not activity suitability. A festival or principal Moon phase can share a date with any verdict; its marker remains separate from Suitable, Avoid and Not listed.

Where does my own zodiac fit?

This calendar shows the shared almanac. Choose birth-date mode above to compare each day’s animal with your birth-year sign. That relationship stays separate from Yi and Ji.

Your fixed profile · a moving calendar

What makes this calendar personal?

Your birthday supplies the reference. Each selected day brings a new branch and activity reading.

A birthday gives more than an animal

A full birth date identifies your birth-year animal, year element, Yin or Yang, and exact lunar birthday. The sign changes at Chinese New Year, not 1 January: 18 February 1996 is still a Wood Pig date, while 19 February begins the Fire Rat year.

Choosing an animal directly supplies only the branch needed for day comparisons. It cannot recover an element or lunar birthday from that animal alone, because the same animal returns under different year stems.

Keep three layers separate

Birth profile
The original year identity and lunar birthday remain fixed.
Current-year outlook
Your animal is compared with the current lunar year. Browsing an old day does not turn this into a historical annual reading.
Selected-day reading
The daily animal is compared with your reference sign, alongside the activity’s independent Yi or Ji entry.

A lunar birthday repeats the same lunar month, day and leap status. A same-animal day instead returns every twelve days, with a changing stem element. Those are different calendar events.

Why Metal, Earth and Water can all appear

This birth date belongs to the Yang Metal Dragon year. Metal comes from the year stem; Dragon’s fixed branch element is Earth. Neither changes when you browse another date.

On 23 September 2026, the day is Yang Metal Rat. Dragon and Rat share the Water trine, with Monkey completing the group. Water describes the relationship group, not a replacement for the original year element.

That date lists travel in Ji. The shared trine remains visible but does not change the travel verdict.

Questions about your profile

Does “no pairing” mean incompatible?

It means no match was found in the four relationship systems displayed here. The tool does not turn absence into a negative score. A shared trine identifies two members of a group, not a complete three-branch combination. Explore the relationship maps →

Can I use it without sharing my birthday?

Yes. Choose the animal-only option for branch comparisons. Birth-date mode adds information that an animal alone cannot supply. Dates can remain in the page address and browser history, so check the address before sharing it.

What if my lunar birthday is absent this year?

A thirtieth day can be absent from a short lunar month, and a numbered leap month does not occur every year. We do not silently substitute another date. The birthday finder explains each year’s result and marks exact occurrences in its calendar.
